cells

Meiosis and mitosis, the two different forms of cell division (the division of cells with a diploid set of chromosomes and the division into sex cells with a haploid set of chromosomes) are the occasion for the creation of these mosaics.
Rucker uses different materials from all over the world. Tesserae (Roman mosaic pieces), various minerals, sea shells and fossils are assembled to form mosaics.
Pursuant to this, the idea developed, to create a “fountain of youth” in the shape of a swimming pool. Ten cells were to be positioned at the bottom of a swimming pool as live cell mosaics.
